Plan matched CT-only, MRI-only and fusion comparisons for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) versus non-HCC lesions in adults with cirrhosis undergoing assessment of an already localized, untreated focal liver lesion.

What the synthetic experiments found
The toy encoders and fusion comparisons are reproducible, but both generated modalities already expose an easy label signal. Fusion gave no ranking gain on the tiny fixture; this does not test clinical HCC diagnosis.
Next question
The initial population and diagnostic question are defined. Planning covers pairing safeguards, independent references and pre-access feasibility. A bounded source search accepted no new source evidence; this does not establish that suitable sources do not exist. Next: verify an authorized paired cohort with representative non-HCC controls and lesion-linked pathology or an adequately independent diagnostic reference, followed by clinical and statistical review. No cohort is populated.
